Realize the Resistance
Recognizing the Resistance Towards Our Goals
Realize the Resistance
Resistance cannot be seen, touched, heard, or smelled. But it can be felt. We experience it as an energy field radiating from a work-in-potential. It’s a repelling force. It’s negative. It aims to shove us away, distract us, and prevent us from doing the work.
This thing called resistance is all around us.
It’s the voice in your head saying “hit snooze”
It’s the extreme laziness you feel when you’re getting ready to do a mundane task.
It’s strongest when we’re at our weakest. How do we overcome this resistance?
First, we need to become aware of it. It may manifest in your mind, body, or spirit. Even all 3 at once! Resistance Party!
When I wake up, the resistance is strong when it comes to moving my body. I have everything set up and ready to go — yet the Resistance keeps me from starting my routine warm up. Once I get moving, I feel less resistance and I am able to get going with focus.
When it comes to doing important projects, many of us feel a sense of dread. It’s weird because we want to complete the project — yet, it feels like there is a force of negativity keeping us from starting the first step.
It’s truly astonishing. The answer is to dive into the ocean of the unknown. We know that yet we are held hostage by the comfort of resistance.
I encourage you to step back and observe the Resistance in your life. When is it the strongest? When do you feel no resistance?
