Corridors of Curiosity: The Return
Hello Team,
It’s been a minute! (6 months, to be exact! Which is 262,800 minutes, to be even more exact!)
I’ve been busy being Paril — that’s been exhausting. I’ve learned new lessons and fallen into deep ruts, earned new perspectives and leveraged new strengths, killed old weaknesses and found a new sense of gratitude.
That’s a complicated way to explain that LIFE BE LIFE’N.
That’s nothing new. You’re familiar. Life will always happen in a manner that is best for life, not our emotions — all we can do is observe and march along our paths the best we can.
If only it was that easy.
The last few months have been confusing. Life is changing at a rapid pace (LIFE BE LIFE’N!)
Been doing lots of adapting, adjusting, adhering… or at least trying to. Exhausting.
I refused to sit down and let this depression win. Standing firm in the confusion, trying to make sense of it through words. Picking apart the negative patterns to find more clarity, only to find more depression. Tough. At times, it felt like sitting down and giving up was a better option.
But as I stand here today, I am proud of having lived through the last couple of months.
It wasn’t easy — shit was miserable at times. Most times. You get it, you’re a human being. You’ve been in similar situations before.
But the perspective I am here with today is only found in the trenches — through exploring, through uncovering, through calling bullshit out… It’s only found when you stand tall in the confusion of life, unwavering, refusing to back down, that you find the lessons that will guide you for the rest of life.
I’ll share these lessons and insights as we continue into these last couple of months of 2024 (damn, that’s crazy to say!)

Top 5 Reasons to Stop Letting Depression Win
It’s not fun. Life should be a little fun, it shouldn’t be so miserable.
It’s ugly — being depressed is ugly. No one likes depressed people, not even depressed people themselves. Stop letting this ugly force win.
People worry about you. That sucks — I hate when my mom worries about me, I hate when my homies worry about me. I love that they care — but I hate that they worry when I let depression win.
It keeps you stuck. The Ego loves when you’re feeling depressed, you must override the emotions and take positive action! The Ego hates that.
It keeps you from the things you love to do. Imagine, I almost let depression stop me from chasing my dreams of being a writer. Depression kept me from walking my dog. Fuck that. More walkies and more writing.
Depression is a strong force, but you are way stronger. Get back up and get in your bag!
